The department also offers courses in communications, history, philosophy and sociology. In addition to the introductory and survey classes in these disciplines, students can also take a wide variety of specialized upper-division courses, which reflect the areas of expertise of our faculty, such as Philosophy and Religion, 人类性行为, 家庭社会学, and Trends in 沟通 Technology and Business.

The faculty of the 社会科学 and Humanities Department are experienced professionals with a dedication to teaching and the pursuit of scholarship: All full-time faculty members have terminal degrees in their fields, and most are published authors. They are recognized scholars and experts in their fields, active in a variety of academic and community organizations.

The 社会科学 and Humanities Department leads students to explore the world based on responsible academic research regarding the workings of the human mind and culture in order to understand and critique a variety of viewpoints, develop effective skills for career success, and participate responsibly and positively in a complex and diverse society.
